A former well-known Ralls resident, Mrs. Bessie Wampler of Seymour, was buried last Wednesday in Ralls Cemetery following 2 p.m. memorial services in the Ralls First Baptist Church. The Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, officiated.Mrs. Wampler, 62, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Crosbyton Hospital after a prolonged illness.
The Hood County native moved to the Lorenzo area in 1939 from Knox County. She resided in Ralls from 1959 until moving in 1976 to Seymour.
The husband is among survivors. Other survivors include two sons, Bob Wampler of Waco and Bill Wampler of Ralls; her mother, Mrs. Katie Bevel of Ralls; two brothers, Leon Bevel of Lubbock and Horace Bevel of Seymour; three sisters, Ms. Bee Westbrook of Friona, Mrs. Annie Mae Mattehus of Placentia, Calif., and Mrs. Janie Tidwell of Valiejo, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
