Nita VandeverJuanita �Nita� Vandever, age 82, of Corinth, Texas, formerly of Ralls, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014, at Autumn Oaks of Corinth. She left this world to join a truly beautiful and heavenly choir where she will without a doubt sing a glorious soprano solo.

She was born March 23, 1931 in Mexia, Texas to Tracy Roy Armstrong and Myrtie M. Tarrant Armstrong. Nita married Joe Vandever on February 20, 1965 in Borger, Texas. She retired after 38 years as an Administrative Assistant with Crosbyton, New Deal and Ralls School Districts.

Nita is survived by her husband, Joe of Corinth, Texas, formerly of Ralls; children, Danny Samples (Martha Sue) of Norwood, NC, Debbie Vandever Higgs of Dripping Springs, Tx, Connie Samples Watson (Randy) of Wolfforth, Tx, Pamela Vandever Smith of Sanger, Tx, CindiVandeverFriedel (Kenny) of Georgetown, Tx, and Stacy Vandever Crowe (David) of Cross Roads, Tx.; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and sister, Betty Watson (Richard) of Grandbury, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Armstrong, sister, Myrtie Katherine Washburn, son-in-law, Clifford Higgs and two grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Ryan Crowe.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday January 7, 2014, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ralls Cemetery Chapel, Ralls, Texas, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home. For online condolences please visit www.mulkeymason.com.

DENTON � Joe C. Vandever, 86, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Ralls, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Lake Forest. He left this world to be put in charge of a large cow/calf operation on Kingdom Ranch where he will be mounted on the best cow horse in heaven, On Eagles Wings.

He was born July 5, 1928 in Morgan Mill, Texas to James Sterling �Ted� Vandever and Neva Cantrell. Joe married Nita Armstrong Vandever on Feb. 20, 1965 in Borger, Texas. He retired after 35 years as a Regional Manager from Verizon, formerly GTE. He was also a member of the Ralls Lions Club and Ralls First Baptist Church.

Joe is survived by his children, Danny Samples (Martha Sue) of Norwood, NC, Debbie Vandever Higgs of Dripping Springs, TX, Connie Samples Watson (Randy) of Wolfforth, TX, Pamela Vandever Smith of Sanger, TX, Cindi Vandever Friedel (Kenny) of Midland, TX, Stacy Vandever Crowe (David) of Cross Roads, TX; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita �Nita� Vandever; parents; brother, Luther Weldon Vandever; sisters, Teddy Faye Vandever and Gwen Vandever Hux; son-in-law Clifford Higgs; and two grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Ryan Crowe. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday October31, 2014 at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude, for the exemplary service, dedication and amazing affection offered to Joe by the entire staff at Good Samaritan Lake Forest and VNA hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to either the Ralls Cemetery Association or your local hospice organization.
