Services for Susie K. Southward, 100, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 1990 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock, officiating, assisted by Rev. Jim Morrow.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

She died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 12, 1990 at Ralls Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born January 13, 1890 in Itasca, Texas. She married Christopher Southward on December 24, 1911. He died February 14, 1960.

She moved to Ralls in 1926 from Hill County. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1927 and was its oldest member on Mother's Day.

A son, James died in 1968.

Survivors include a son, Horace Weldon of Lancaster; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
