Robert Shelby, 67, of Lubbock passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at UMC. Robert was born August 9, 1942 to Cecil and Bessie Shelby in Crosby County. Robert grew up in Cone, Floydada and Ralls, TX.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brother, Isaiah Shelby; and his Godmother, Myria Dade.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories 3 brothers, Pat Shelby and family of Lubbock, TX, Edward Shelby and family of Midland, TX, and Curly Shelby and family of Okmulgee, OK; his guardian, Robert Hastings Jr. of Lubbock, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Faith First Baptist Church, Lubbock. Interment will follow at Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitations will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
