Services for Robert Ennis Reese Sr., 81, father of former Lorenzo resident Phil Reese and grandfather of a current Lorenzo resident, Melissa Reese Houchin, were held Thursday in Ralls.The services were held at the First Baptist Church at 2 p.m. last Thursday with elder George Johnson of Crosbyton Primitive Church and Dennis May, minister of Emma Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Reese passed away at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Grayson County and moved to Ralls in 1920 from Winfield. He married Nellie Margaret Wilbanks on December 29, 1930 in Clovis, NM. He was a retired farmer and real estate salesman and had been a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church since 1934.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Jr. of Robert Lee and Phil of Ralls; four daughters, Roberta Harrell of Lubbock, Betty Fewell of Wilcox, Ariz., Sue Crone of Ralls and Thelma Mallow of Hobbs, NM; a brother, Cecil of Lubbock; three sisters, Gladys Ross of Stephenville, Eunice Short of Lubbock and Alma Williams of Post; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
