Services for Elvis R. Reese, 61, of Lubbock will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at Cowboy Church of the South Plains with Ray Perryman officiating and Phillip Brown assisting. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. Visitation will be Sunday, September 18 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton, Texas.
Elvis was born May 17, 1950, in Ralls Texas. He was united with his heavenly Father on September 17, 2011 in Lubbock.
He graduated from Lorenzo High School in 1968. He married Gayle Ann Medlock, his high school sweetheart, on June 5, 1971 in Lorenzo, Texas. He owned Hygiea Sprinkler Company. In 1991, he went to work for LP&L as a backhoe operator, retiring in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle of Lubbock and three daughters, Angel (and Jay) Green of Slaton, Crystal (and Steve) Cartner and Jana (and John) Soto all of Lubbock. His seven grandchildren, Jace, Maeson, and Jadyn Green, Cody and Cory Cartner and Josie and Reese Soto were the light of his life.
The family suggests memorials to the Cowboy Church of the South Plains Building Fund, 406 CR 7300, Lubbock, TX 79404 or Shortround Ministries, P.O. Box 1626, Midland, TX, 79702-1626.
