Services for Jose (Joe) Ramirez, Sr., 73, of Lorenzo were held at 2:00 Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls with Rev. Jesse Cruz officiating. Burial was followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Rosary was held at 7:00 PM Monday at the same church.
Mr. Ramirez passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005 at his Lorenzo home. He was born April 14, 1931 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and married Filomena "Mena" Guzman in 1957 in Ralls. She preceded him in death August 12, 2004.
He was a farmer and moved to Lorenzo in 1991. He had lived in Crosby County for 45 years. He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Survivors include 4 sons; Joe Ramirez, Jr., Jesse Ramirez and Gerald Ramirez all of Ralls and Edward Ramirez of Crosbyton; 3 daughters; Maria Elisa Gibson, and Gloria Ramirez, both of Ralls and Virginia Ramirez of Borger, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be; Tony Mendoza, Jerry Swetnam, Victor Guzman, Lonnie Guzman, Fidel Rodriquez, Shawn Holt and Terso Guzman, Jr.
