Services for W.C. "Dutch" McDuff, 87, of Ralls were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2000 at Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Cain of Albuquerque, NM officiating and the Rev. Randy Bartley assisting.
Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ralls.
He died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at Covenant Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1913 in Johnson County, Texas.
He married Gwen Marsh on September 27, 1936 in Ralls, Texas.
He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church. He was a farmer and served on the Ralls Cemetery Board. He moved to Ralls in 1917 from Hill County.
Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Linda Slater and her husband Tommy of Odessa, two sons, Jim and Danny, both of Ralls, one brother, Lee McDuff of Houston, a sister Jo McKay of Woodland Hills, CA, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clay McDuff, Mark McDuff, Steve Slater, Stan Slater, J.J. McDuff and Darcy Martin. Honorary Pallbeaers were Vernon Roye, Roy Simpson, James Stokes, Norman Roye, Edmond Crump, Jesse Calderon, Robert Danner, Buddy French, Dwight Roye, Jerry McKinley, Earl C. Abell, Kent Anderson, Brent Reese, Glenn Joyce, Buzz Cooper and Benny Poulson.

Esther Gwendolyn (Gwen) Marsh McDuff, 94 of Ralls left this earth to be with the Lord Friday, April 25, 2014. Gwen was born December 30, 1919 in Crosby County to James Rubert and Lillian Vaile Porter Marsh. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1936. Gwen married William Claborne ( Dutch ) McDuff on September 27, 1936 near Ralls, Texas. Dutch and Gwen were engaged in farming most of their lives but spent a brief time in California during World War II. Gwen loved to paint and quilt and produced many fine paintings and quilts, she loved to cook and always received many compliments. She continued to cook until almost the end. If someone showed up at her house, she could put a meal on the table in a flash. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ralls.
Gwen was preceded in death in 2000 by her husband of 63 years; her parents in 1964 and 1985, and a sister Elwanda Marsh Cox in 2013.
Gwen is survived by her three children, Jim McDuff and Pam Taylor of Ralls, Linda and Tommy Slater of Odessa and Danny and Shannon McDuff of Lorenzo; her brother Ray and Shirley Marsh of Lubbock and a sister Faye Marsh Stevens of El Paso. Eight grandchildren; Clay McDuff, Mark McDuff, Kelley Johnson, Steve Slater, Stan Slater, Kristy Herrington, Tiffany Gunderson , J.J. McDuff, Laura Wideman and Danny Wideman; Fourteen great- grandchildren and seven great -great- grandchildren. Maggie Martinez was a companion, friend and assisted her in her final years.
Services for Gwen will be 2:00 p.m. Monday April 28, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Ralls. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Family suggest memorial to the First Baptist Church of Ralls or the charity of your choice.
