Lela Pearl Mayes Funeral Is Held In Ralls Thursday

Services for Lela Pearl Mayes, 90, of Ralls, were at 5 p.m. Thursday, in Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home here.

Mrs. Mayes died in Crosbyton Hospital Wednesday morning after a long illness.

She was born in Mexia and moved from Graham to Ralls in September 1916. She was a member of Ralls First Baptist Church, the TEL Sunday School Class and Order of the Eastern Star here.

Survivors include two sons, Truitt of Plainview and Bill of Ralls; two daughters, Faye Cornwell of Ralls and Louise McCluskey of Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Viva Foster of Modesto, Calif.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
