Prayer services for Sara Fonseca Mata, 70, of Ralls were held at 7:00 PM Monday, at Iglesia Bautista in Ralls. Services were held Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the same church with Rev. Cleta Eldridge officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Mata passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Mi Casita in Lubbock. She was born March 30, 1936 in Divot, Texas to the late Adan and Seferina (Collaso) Fonseca. /p>

< December 9, 1956 she married Saturnino Mata in Dilley, Texas. She moved to Ralls in 1959 from Dilley. A homemaker, she was a member of Fellowship of Faith Church in Petersburg.

She is preceded in death by 4 brothers; Moises, David, Fidencio and Saul Fonseca and 2 sisters, Juanita Sanchez and Inocencia Valdez.

Survivors include her husband, Saturnino Mata of Ralls, 3 sons; Noe Mata of Ralls, Moises Mata of Lubbock and Mark Mata of Petersburg, 2 daughters; Nora Salazar of Petersburg and Noemi Galaviz of Amarillo, 4 brothers; Samuel Fonseca and Abram Fonseca, both of Dilley, Isaias Fonseca of Bensonville, Illinois and Jose Fonseca of San Antonio, 2 sisters; Eva Moreno of Dilley and Elidia Castillo of San Antonio, 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Casket bearers will be Aaron Mata, Jeremiah Mata, Joshua Salazar, Elias Galaviz. Rogelio Nava and Andrew Arguello.
