Obituary

Regino MataRosary for Regino "Burrito Man" Mata, Sr. 75, of Ralls will be at 7:00 PM, Sunday, December 26, 2004 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 27, 2004 at the same church with Father Jesse Cruz officiating.

He died Thursday December 23, 2004 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born September 7, 1929 in Dilley, Texas to Dolores and San Juanita (Santolla) Mata. On September 5, 1948 he married Isabel Cedillo in Dilley. He was an active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church where he was in the Sacred Hearts (Sagrado Corazon) and many other church organizations. He moved to the Ralls area in 1953. He was a farmer.

Survivors include; His wife Isabel of Ralls, three sons; Regino Mata, Jr. of Ralls, Oscar Mata of Carlisle, Israel Mata of San Antonio, six daughters; Lorie Rivera of Post, Melinda Mata of Ralls, Ofelia Mata of Globe, AZ, Elsa Garcia of Ralls, Julia Alvarez of Harlingen and Janie Mata of Colorado, five brothers; Genaro Mata of Carrizo Springs, Texas, Martin Mata of Lubbock, Saturnino Mata, Torivo Mata, and Silvanio Mata all of Ralls, two sisters; Petra Garcia and Fidela Elizondo both of New Braunfels 20 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday and from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.

Pallbearers will be Luciano Mata, Rodrigo Mata, Fabian Mata, DeNiro Mata, Eduardo Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, Emilio Ray Garcia, A. J. Alvarez, Fermin Rivera, Jr., Daniel Compton and Damien Mata.

Isabel MataRosary for Isabel Mata, 78, of Ralls will be at 7:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2009 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the same church with Rev. Ernesto Lopez officiating. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Isabel passed away on September 1, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born December 5, 1930 in Uvalde to the late Antonio and Julia (Cantu) Cedillo. On September 5, 1948 she married Regino "Ray" Mata in Dilley. He passed away on December 23, 2004.

Isabel was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls where she was in the Guadalupanas. She was a homemaker and moved to the Ralls area in 1953 from Dilley.

Survivors include; three sons, Regino Mata, Jr. of Crosbyton, Oscar Mata of Carlisle, Israel Mata of San Antonio; six daughters, Lorie Rivera of Post, Melinda Mata of Lubbock, Ofelia Mata of Tempe, AZ, Elsa Garcia of Ralls, Julia Alvarez of Harlingen, Janie Mata of Manitou Springs, CO; two brothers, Manuel Cedillo, Manuel Cedillo; four sisters, Lucinda Lozano, Alicia Rodriguez, Josepha Fernandez and Alberta Sedillo, 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
