Services for Esther Dale Lemon, 85, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Lubbock with the Rev. Lynn Lemon officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Mrs. Lemon passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at the Grand Court in Lubbock.
Mrs. Lemon was born Oct. 21, 1919 at Mt. Pleasant to Maudie Lee (Dillard) and Joe Turner Sandlin. On Oct. 21, 1993, she married O.W. Lemon in Lubbock. She was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church. She moved to Lubbock in October of 1964 from Altus, Okla. She is preceded in death by her son, Bryan Vestal; a stepdaughter, Joyce Cox; three brothers, Roland Sandlin, Otis Sandlin and Oscar Sandlin; and three sisters, Letha Grant, Ola Mae Simpson and Dovie Ellis.
Survivors include her husband, Weldon Lemon of Lubbock, a son, David B. Vestal; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Vestal Clark of Grove, Okla.; and three stepdaughters, Linda Brand, Rita Walker and Karen Hooten, all of Lubbock. Also surviving her are two sisters, Ruby Downing of Levelland and Mary Yarborough of Childress; and two granddaughters, Cheryl Vestal of Atlanta, Ga. and Connie Vestal of Springtown. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
