Funeral services for Thelma Fern Kinney, 73, of Ralls were held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Ralls First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor, officiating.

Burial in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kinney died at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital at Lubbock after a brief illness.

She married James Layton Kinney on Dec. 25, 1924 at Maysville, Okla. He died Oct. 24, 1969.

She moved to the South Plains from Oklahoma in 1935 to Ralls in 1936, Midland in 1954 and returned to Ralls in 1967.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell of Houston and Jimmy of Zavalla; a daughter, Vera Mae Broussard of Zavalla; two brothers, Horace W. Bruington of Elmore City, Okla., and Alex H. Bruington of Petersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Davis of Wills point, Mrs. Russell Randolph of Norman, Okla., Mrs. Ezra Bilberry of Petersburg and Mrs. Loy Jay of Petersburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Wayne Wells, Davis Pruitt, Dwight Roye, Norman Roye, Scott Gilbreath and Steve Gray.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Dee Bishop, Don Nunley, A.D. Payne, Buran House and Russell Houston.
