Funeral Services Held at Crosbyton Yesterday for Luther M. Keith, 55

Funeral services for Luther M. Keith, 55, of Balmorhea, former resident of Crosby county, were held at Crosbyton Baptist church at 3 p.m., yesterday with Rev. Carl Grissom, pastor officiating, assisted by Cline Drake, Crosbyton Church of Christ minister.

Keith died of a heart attack on Tuesday in a Monahans hospital.

Luther Martin Keith was born in Erath county and moved to Ralls in 1917, where he lived several years. He also lived in Crosbyton and Lubbock, and the past year has resided in Balmorhea, where he was a ginner. He and Mrs. Keith spent the weekend with relatives in Crosbyton and Ralls enroute home from a ginners convention in Dallas. His mother, Guy Keith, and her sister, Mrs. C. Cathey, both of Ralls, went to Amarillo Tuesday for a visit with a sister there, but found the message of his death awaiting them there. Relatives returned them to Ralls.

The body was brought to Crosbyton, where his daughter, Mrs. Nelda Benton, his son, Connie M. Keith, and his sister, Mrs. Owen Crump live. Interment was in Ralls cemetery where his father, Guy Keith is buried.

Survivors include the wife, Laverne; one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Benton, Crosbyton; two sons, L.M. Keith, jr., Columbus, Ohio, and Connie M. Keith of Crosbyton; his mother, of Ralls, three sisters, Mrs. E.E. Patterson of Ralls, Mrs. Owen Crump of Crosbyton and Mrs. Glenna Hebert of Dallas; three brothers, Clifford (Red) Keith of Belen, N.M., Nolen (Doc) Keith of Ralls, and Paul Keith of Silsbee; and two grandchildren of Crosbyton. Mrs. C. Cathey and Mrs. Ira Keith are aunts and Raleigh Keith, a cousin.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Edwards, Dee Collier, Arthur Brakebill, Olen Littlefield, Doug Burrows and Bill Nixon.

Western Cotton Oil employees were named honorary pallbeaers.
