Joseph Green Keele (Joe), was born December 28, 1878, in Bell County and died August 9, 1962, at Crosbyton, Texas. He is buried in Ralls Cemetery. Joe lived to be 84 years old. Joe Keele married Laura Elizabeth Oldham (Lizzie) in 1903 in Bell County. (Lizzie and Effie Oldham Keele were sisters).Joe Keele was a tall, darkheaded man, not fat, and resembled his brother Henry a lot. Lizzie Keele was a good person and everyone loved her. She was the one person in the family that knew enough about the family to give me information to get started on. Aunt Lizzie was diabetic and it caused her to be blind in later years.
Joe and Lizzie Keele lived in a number of places...Bell County, Ralls, Clyde, San Saba...to name a few. Joe was considered a farmer by trade. He and Lizzie were the parents of eight children; Joseph Lester, Lena Belle, Lawrence, Lloyd Franklin, Ruby Lee, Bulah Mae, Novina Jewel and Joseph G. Keele, Jr. Lawrence and Joe, Jr. died as infants.
