Obituary

RALLS (Special) - Mass for Guadalupe S. Hernandez, 63, of Ralls will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Parampil officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 1:40 a.m. Friday in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital after an illness.

He was born in Texas and moved from Robstown to Ralls in 1960. He married Petra Castillo on May 17, 1944. He was a retired farmer. He was Catholic.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Ofilia Quintanilla, Amanda Hinojosa, Petra Resendez and Juana Hernandez, all of Ralls; a brother, Jose of Byte, Calif.; three sisters, Margartia Hinohosa of Freer, Manuela Cisneros and Louisa Pena, both of Victoria; and nine grandchildren.

Petra HernandezServices for Petra Hernandez, 80, of Ralls will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, at St. Michael´s Catholic Church in Ralls with the Rev. Timothy E. Judd officiating.

Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the same church.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral home of Ralls.

She died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at her home in Ralls.

She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Goliad, TX. She married Guadalupe Sosa Hernandez May 17, 1944, in Nueces County. He died June 5, 1987.

She was a member of St. Michael´s Catholic Church, where she was in the Prayer Group and the Ladies Organization. She moved to Ralls in 1961 from Robstown, and was a homemaker.

Survivors include four daughters, Amanda Cortez, Ofilia Quintanilla, Petra Resendez and Juana Marin, all of Ralls; a sister, Crestina Perez of Ralls; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
