Obituary

Funeral services were held for Ellis Henry, 78, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Friday, Mar. 1, 1989, at 11 a.m. in the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. James Morrow, pastor, Rev. Bob Thrower of Keene, Texas; and Rev. Tommy Allen, of Burnett officiating. Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Mr. Henry died in Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Sunday, February 26, 1989, at 10:55 a.m. after an illness. He was born in Hill County, Texas, August 19, 1910. He married Mamie Jo Parks in Ralls in 1934. He moved to Ralls in 1921, moved to Paris, Texas, 45 years later and moved to Tennesse in 1972. Mr. Henry was a member of the Collegedale Seventh Day Adventist Church and Past President of the Ralls Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Joe Henry of Ooltewah, Tenn; two daughters, Reika Wygal of Cleveland, Tenn; Judy Glass of Collegedale, Tenn.. Two brothers, Jack Henry of Lubbock and Dub Henry of Morton; four sisters, Gladys Howard of Graham, Zonnelle Myers of Fritch, Hazel Smith of Ralls, and Maxine Thornton of Possum Kingdom Lake; four grandchildren, Kimberly Arellano, Kelly Wygal, Shauna Campbell and Gregory Glass, and one great-grandchild, Ashley Arellano.

Pallbearers were Wayne Lee Sanders, Terry Morris, Jerry Smith, Edwin Martin, Jack Bob Henry, Dewayne Lynch, and Earl C. Abell. Honorary Pallbearers were J.W. Payne, James Boydston, Edmond Crump, Jack Robertson, Joe Jester, Albert Cisneros and Conde Harrell.
