C. B. Hendrick, a retired Ralls farmer and a former football coach and teacher at Ralls, was claimed by death at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock, following an illness.

Mr. Hendrick was 74.

Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Marcus, pastor, officiating.

Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery, with Carter-Adams Funeral Home handling arrangements.

Born July 24, 1906 in Anson, C.B. Hendrick was married to Alma Ralls in Ralls on Nov. 12, 1932.

Following his graduation from Abilene Christian College in 1930, he moved to Ralls as football coach and a teacher in Ralls High School.

Through the years, he served Ralls as mayor, chief of Ralls Voluntary Fire Department and president of Ralls Chamber of Commerce. He had held member ship in Rotary Club, Lions Club and Quarterback Club in Ralls.

Mr. Hendrick was a member of the Ralls Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Alma; two daughters, Mrs. Dick (Donna) Landsheft of El Paso and Mrs. Don (Sue) Gobin of Richardson; two brothers, Curt Hendrick of Ralls and Willard Hendrick of Big Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Andy Jones of Stamford; and Mrs. L. B. Hammock of Dalhart; and six grandchildren.

Alma Hendrick Services for Alma Hendrick, 93, of Ralls were held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 23, 2003 at Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Bevel and Rev.Larry Reed-Farris officiating. Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Monday, October 20, 2003 in Lubbock. She was born January 25, 1910 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Percy B. and Almira Jessie Culbertson Ralls. She married C. B. Hendrick on November 12, 1932 in Ralls. He died September 16, 1980.

She was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She moved to the Ralls area in 1915.

Survivors include two daughters; Donna Landsheft of El Paso, Sue Gobin of Richardson, a sister Pauline Watkins of Ralls, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Ralls EMS or the Ralls Volunteer Fire Dept. 800 Ave I Ralls, Texas 79357.

Pallbearers were Don Gobin, Dick Landsheft, Don Niewold, Jim Mitchell, Greg Gobin, Charles Niewold, Larry Work and Scott Ralls. Honorary pallbearers will be: Walker Watkins, James Leftwich, George Wilson, Gene McLaughlin, Charles B. Gray, Chris Adams, Bob Kimbrough and Johnny Gibson.
