Funeral services for Clifford T. Guthrie, 79, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Emma Church of Christ with Roy Shave officiating.Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.
He died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born June 7, 1904 in Eastland County, he moved to Ralls in 1976 from Hollis, Okla. He lived in Hollis for 37 years. He was a retired insurance agency owner in Hollis. He was a charter member of Hollis Lions Club and president and organizer of Hardeman County Sports Club. He was a former city councilman in Hollis.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Guthrie married Laura Mitchell on Dec. 1, 1927 in Childress.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Paul of Paonia, Colo.; a daughter, Betty Wyrick of Ralls; two brothers, L. E. of Sweetwater and Bill of Brownwood; three sisters, Gertrude Alford and Mary Belle Deere, both of Brownwood, and Oma King of Paonia; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
