Services for W.C. "Dub" Ellis Jr., 65, of Lubbock were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 1990 in the Sanders Funeral Home Chapel in Lubbock with the Rev. Dudley Strain of Westmont Christian Church officiating.Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
Mr. Ellis died at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 1990 in Lubbock´s University Medical Center following an illness.
He was born August 2, 1924 in Gorman, Texas and married Mary Ellen Sanders January 29, 1954 in Lubbock. He was a member of Westmont Christian Church in Lubbock and served in Okinawa in World War II in the Air Force. He was a custodian at Lubbock´s University Medical Center. He moved to Ralls in 1932 from Dalhart then to Lubbock from Ralls in 1950.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Ellis of Lubbock; 2 daughters, Jana Thurman of Amarillo and Joyce Ann Ellis of Lubbock; 1 brother, Garland Ellis of Ralls; 2 grandchildren, Todd and Ty Thurman of Amarillo.
Pallbearers were: O.C. Strickland, Joe Skinner, Jr., Mack Fowler, David Thurman, Rodney Ellis, Billy Paul.
The family suggest memorials to the Alzheimer´s Research Institute in care of Thomas Hutton, Texas Tech Univ. Health Science Center at 3601 4th St. Lubbock, TX 79430 or the Lubbock Adult Day Care Center at 2807 42nd St. in Lubbock.

Memorial services for Mary Ellen Ellis, 77, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16th, at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. Pastor David Langford will officiate. Private Inurnment will be held at Ralls Texas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia, Amarillo, TX.
She passed away on January 10, 2010 in Amarillo.
Mary Ellen was born October 13, 1932, in Big Springs, TX. She married W.C. Ellis, Jr. on January 29, 1954, in Lubbock, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jana Thurman and husband Steve of Amarillo, Texas and Joyce Cook and husband Kenneth of Shallowater, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Hammond of Stephenville, Texas; two grandsons; and two great grandchildren.
