Services for Roger Dale Cypert, 41, of Lorenzo, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, in the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with United Methodist Church with Rev. Namiqa Shipman, pastor, and Rev. Don Boren, pastor of Friona First United Methodist Church, officiating.Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital following an illness.
He was born October 27, 1955; in Lubbock and married Rhonda Tucker July 5, 1974, in Ralls. He was a member of the Lorenzo First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Searcher´s Sunday School Class and served on several church administrative boards. He was a graduate of Lorenzo High School and a former member of the Lorenzo School Board. He currently served as the Lorenzo City Administrator, a position he has held since 1994. He was a member of the Lorenzo Masonic Lodge where he had served as the Past Master. He served on the Crosby County Livestock Board and was a former member of the Lorenzo Lions Club. He had lived in Lorenzo all his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Vivian House Cypert who died Feb. 7, 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Cypert of Lorenzo; two sons, Clint Cypert of Abilene, and Chance Cypert of Lorenzo; his father, Marvin Cypert of Lorenzo; two sisters, Rhonda Klein of Lubbock and Roxie Powers of Pampa; one brother, Randy Cypert of Whitehouse, TX.
