Rites Read For Mrs. Callaway
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday for Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Callaway, grandmother of Mrs. John Cherry and long time resident of this area. Mrs. Callaway, 86, died Monday night in the Ralls Convalescent Home where she had been a patient for several months.Mrs. Callaway moved to the area in 1920 from Erath County.
Rites were read in the First Methodist Church at Ralls with the Rev. H.B. Coggin, pastor, and the Rev. Everett K. McGregor officiating.
Burial was in Ralls cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Survivors include two sons, Woods of Hebronville and Clyde of El Paso; three daughters, Mrs. Philip S Godfrey of Middletown, N.J., Mrs. L. O. Storm of Hobbs, N.M., and Mrs. L.W. Spikes of Ralls; one sister, Mrs. Mae Nanny of Stephenville; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
