Donald Aycock 81, of Lorenzo passed away December 1, 2012 in Lubbock Texas after a lengthy illness. A visitation will be held Monday December 3,2012 from 6:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 4, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with the Rev. Kris Knippa officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Donald was born August 7, 1931 at the Wheeler Ranch House in Robertson to Marvin and Jessie Wheeler Aycock. He married Peggy Payne on June 16, 1952 in Ralls Texas. Donald was a proud graduate of Robertson High School and started farming in the 1950's. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lorenzo. He was very innovative in his farming business being one of the first in the area to have a module builder and a pivot irrigation system. He also loved working with cattle and horses. Donald loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved helping young men get started in their lives helping many through the years. Donald served on the Lorenzo School Board for many years, was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years Peggy, two sons Brad Aycock and Brian Aycock both of Lorenzo, a daughter Gayla Aycock of Plainview. One brother Wendell Aycock of Lubbock, two sisters Mary Webb of Georgia, and Betty Johnson of Lorenzo. Seven grandchildren Cory, Chase, Scarlette, Brandon, Stephen, Ethan, and Michael Aycock. Four great grand children, Nick, Maddie, Evy, and Avery Aycock.
