Rosary for Mario Ayala, 69, of Lubbock will be at 7 p.m. today and Friday at Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock.Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Theresa Catholic Church with the Rev. Martin Pina officiating.
Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels in Lubbock.
He died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003.
He was born June 25, 1933, in La Piedad Michoacan, Mexico. He married Elena Carreon on Dec. 19, 1959, in Ralls. He moved to the United States in 1953. He was a farmer in the Crosbyton area for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He then moved to Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jose Luis of Albuquerque, N.M., and Marcus and Armando, both of Lubbock; four daughters, Alicia Ayala Lewis of Lawton, Okla., Angie Ayala of Pampa, Patricia Villanueva of Quanah and Imelda Ayala of Lubbock; and 14 grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Lubbock, 1102 Slide Road, Suite 3, Lubbock, TX 79490.
Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today and will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
