Billie Jo Walker Services for Billie Jo Walker, 68, of Lorenzo were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 24, 1999 in Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden officiating and the Rev. Dennis Williams assisting.

Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

She died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in Lubbock's Convenant Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 31, 1930, in McKinney. She married Jimmie G. Walker on Jan. 7, 1949, in Lubbock. She was a member of Lorenzo First Baptist church. She was Girl Scout leader for 25 years. She moved to Lorenzo from Collin County in 1941. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Warren, James and George Cate, two sisters; Edna Stroup and Imogene Cate.

Survivors include her husband; Jimmie G. Walker of Lorenzo; one son, Glen of Lorenzo; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Janice) McClaran of Lorenzo and Judy Powe of Lorenzo; four brothers, H.H. Cate of Hurst; Wayne Cate of Canton; Don Cate of Granbury and E.M. Cate Jr. of Shallowater; a sister, Helen Davis of Dallas, OR; four grandchildren, Sheila McClaran, Vicki McClaran, Sondra Scott, Maurry Powe and two great-grandchildren, Candice Scott and Justin Scott.

Pallbearers were: Don Nickson, Tommy Morrison, Tommy Fondren, Roy Reese, George Fudge, Steve Ferguson and Larry Wallace. Honorary pallbearer was J.C. Cycus.

Jimmie WalkerJimmie G. Walker LORENZO-Jimmie G. Walker, 87, of Lorenzo passed away Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, in Lubbock. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the Lorenzo Cemetery.

Jimmie was born June 17, 1926, to Oco and Pearl Walker. After graduation he attended Texas Tech University and then was drafted in the Army for WWII. He married Billie Jo Cate on Jan. 7, 1949. Jimmie farmed 58 cotton seasons before he retired. He was a board member of the PCCA, as well as a Gin Board member of the Lorenzo CO-OP.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Walker in 1999. He was also preceded by three brothers, O.H. Walker, Donald Wayne Walker, and Bill Walker; and one sister, Margie Williams; as well as two great-grandchildren.

Jimmie is survived by one son, Glen Walker of Lorenzo; two daughters, Janice McClaran of Lorenzo, Judy and husband Les Gilmore, also of Lorenzo; five grandchildren, Sheila McClaran, Vicki Dorris, Sondra Zuber, Maurry Powe, and Ryan Walker; and eight great-grandchildren.
