Services for Rosa Lee Rainwater, 68, of Lorenzo will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
She died Friday, October 29, 2004 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born March 15, 1936 in Amherst, Texas to Tom and Dovie Lois (Sandlin) Ellis. On February 13, 1959 she married Alford Rainwater in Ralls, Texas. She was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church. Rosa Lee had served on the Crosby County Fair Board, was honored as a friend of the 4-H, worked in various roles at County stock shows, served as a girl scout leader and was a member of the Tuesday morning art class. She is preceded in death by three sisters; Elizabeth Piper, Brenda Ellis and Christy Ellis.
Survivors include; her husband; Alford of Lorenzo, a son Kevin and his wife Terry Rainwater of Ralls, three daughters and their husbands; Lucrecia and Tommy Edwards and, Lorainne and Berle Robb all of Lorenzo, Melissa and Coke Fullingim of Petersburg, three brothers; Otis Ellis of Floydada, Truman Ellis of Paducah, Garvis Ellis of Ft. Worth, four sisters; Agnes Birdwell of Lubbock, Anna Mason of Post, Tommie Butler of Childress, Mary Lou Grundy of Floydada, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Terry Hill, Royce Butler, Jeff Butler, Kelly Butler, Vern Wayne Mason, Mike Rainwater, Andy Rainwater and Randy Rainwater. Honorary bearers will be Richard Piper, Cody Ellis, Cole Grundy and Dayton Grundy.
