Services for Jessie Lou Lightner, 79, of Lorenzo were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29, 1994, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. S. W. Keeton of Lubbock, Rev. Rick Foster of Big Spring and Rev. Rick McGee, pastor of Lorenzo, officiating.

Burial was in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lightner died at 4:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 1994, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following an illness.

She was born on July 10, 1914, in Gould, OK. She married O. E. Lightner on Jan. 5, 1935, in Magnum OK. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church. She moved to the Lorenzo area from Tahoka in 1953.

Survivors include her husband, O.E. Lightner of Lorenzo; a son, Orville Lightner of Lubbock; three daughters, Bonnie Griffin of Crosbyton, Melanie Reid of Lorenzo and Shirley Simpson of Denver City; a sister, Clara Perdue of Altus, OK; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were J. C. Perdue, Gaylon Seay, Douglas Davidson, Buddy Foster, Monte McGlaun and Gerald Craddock.
