Biography

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kittrell moved to the Plainview area in 1922 from Bell County via Comanche County. They mvoed into the Estacado Community, Lubbock County, in 1931.

Their four children Frotilla, Lucile, Wilson, and Mary Lee are residents of Texas.

Frotilla and her husband Paul M. Gunnels, live in Freeport, Texas.

Lucile (Mrs. Albert McBride) has two children. Annette (Mrs. Emmett Barnard), and her husband live in Odessa. James Albert McBride and his wife, Glen Ann Barley and three children, Toni, Teri, and Jamie, live at Wes, near Waco.

Wilson and his wife Lonetta Brisco, live near Lorenzo, while their daughter and son-in-law, Jeffie Ann and Ray Rainwater, with daughter Robin, live in Austin.

Mary Lee, after a brief marriage during World War II, has continued her education and is teaching in Post.

Mrs. Kittrell and her daughters have taught a combined total of eight-five years in the Texas Public Schools.

Mr. Alex and Wilson and family have been involved in farming and other agricultural interests for more than ninety years.

The family now consists of seventeen living members. This family, like many others in West Texas, have a wide range of interest. These include travel, ariculture, livestock, china painting, needlework, artcrafts, education, religion, gardening, music, cookery, friends, coffee and conversation.

Obituary

Nona Kittrell Funeral Tomorrow

Services for Mrs. Alex (Nona) Kittrell, 95, of Lorenzo will be held in the Carter-Adams Funeral Chapel in Ralls, tomorrow (Wednesday) morning at 10:00, with Rev. Travis Ellis, pastor of the Estacado Baptist Church and Dr. Jerry Golden, pastor of First Baptist Church, Lorenzo, officiating.

Born in Oxford, Miss., July 29, 1889, she moved at an early age to Bell County Texas. She married Alex Kittrell August 1, 1909. He preceded her in death in May of 1962.

They moved to the plains in 1922 and lived in Lubbock County since 1929. She was a member of the Estacado Baptist Church.

She passed away Monday.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. George Buchanan of Port Neches, Texas; a son Wilson Kittrell of Lorenzo; three daughters, Mrs. Frotilla Gunnels of Freeport, Tx.; Mrs. Lucille McBride of Post, Tx; and Mrs. Mar Lee Wristen of Lorenzo; three grandchildren, Jeffie Ann Rainwater of Austin; Annette Barnard of Odessa, James McBride of West, Texas; Four great grandchildren, Robin Rainwater of Austin; Tony and Teri and Jamie McBride, all of West, Texas.
