Graveside services for Betty Jo Kelsey, 74, of Idalou, formerly of Lorenzo, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2003 at Lorenzo Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Williams officiating.Burial was in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
She died Friday, March 14, 2003 at Lutheran Home of West Texas in Lubbock.
She was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Cedar Hills, TX.
She was a Baptist. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse and worked at West Texas Hospital in Lubbock, was director of nursing at Ralls Nursing Home for many years and retired from nursing after working with Dr. Dale Rhoades at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. She moved to Crosby County in 1947.
She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne Kelsey; a stepson, Robie Lynn Kelsey; and by two brothers, Alvin Tuley and James Tuley.
Survivors include a son, and daughter-in-law, Rick and Kay Kelsey of Portland, OR.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Roy Reese of Lorenzo; four sisters, Genay Bertran of Big Spring, Billie Perkins of Coppell, Norma Schultz of New Braunfels and Carol Huey of Magnolia; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials to American Cancer Society or Lutheran Home of West Texas, 5502 Fourth St., Lubbock, TX 79416.
