Obituary

Arthur L. Isom, 68, of New Deal died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at his home after apparently suffering a heart attack.

Services were held Friday in the First United Methodist Church of Lorenzo with burial in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors of Lubbock. The Rev. James Holman, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Lorenzo, and the Rev. Jim Sharp, pastor of the United Methodist Church of New Deal, officiated.

A resident and farmer in the Lubbock area for 19 years, he moved to New Deal from Lorenzo where he had farmed since 1916. He was married to Edrie Jones of Lubbock in 1926. He was a member of the New Deal Lions Club and the New Deal United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Campbell of Lorenzo; two brothers, Virgil and Ottis Isom, both of Idalou; his mother, Mrs. W. A. Isom, also of Idalou, and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Royce Hess, Herman Lorenz, Clayton Teeter, Wayne Teal, Billy Fortenberry, Emory French, Fred Jobe, and Dalton L. James.

Edrie Isom Photo LORENZO (Special) - Services for Edrie Isom, 94, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. today in Lorenzo First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Landrum Medlock, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

She died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, in Ralls Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 16, 1904, in Upshur County. She married Arthur Lee Isom on Jan. 26, 1926, in Lubbock. He died Jan. 10, 1973. She was a member of Lorenzo First United Methodist Church. She moved to Lorenzo from New Deal in 1974. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma Jean Campbell of Lorenzo; a brother, Carroll Jones of Newburg, Ore.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
