LORENZO (Special) Services for Joel T. Herrington, 77, of Lorenzo will be at 3 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
He died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Eastland County and married Hazel Marie Koonce on May 28, 1937, in Lorenzo. He graduated from Lorenzo High School and was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lorenzo Masonic Loge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a former member of Lorenzo Lions Club, Lorenzo Fire Department and was former secretary for the Lorenzo School Board and former Lorenzo city secretary.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Peggy Robertson of Lorenzo, Patsy Stroud of Baytown and Pamela Lucas of Houston; two brothers, Doyle of Shawnee, Okla., and Allen of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Ethel Cady of Bakersfield and Eva White of Kingsland; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Services for Hazel Marie Herrington, 92, of Lubbock and formerly of Lorenzo will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Mrs. Herrington passed away Monday, November 15, 2010 in Lubbock. She was born July 26, 1918 in Lorenzo to the late Grover and Cora Ethel (Leverett) Koonce. On May 28, 1937 she married Joel T. Herrington in Lorenzo. He preceded her in death April 7, 1993. A homemaker, Hazel was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She lived in Lorenzo most of her life.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jackie Robertson and a sister, Dena Pruitt.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Robertson of Lubbock, Patsy Stroud and husband Jim of Austin and Pamela Lucas and husband Bill of Houston; one brother, Thomas F. Koonce of Lubbock; a sister, Tena Gray of Lorenzo; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home in Lorenzo.
