Funeral services for J.D.Herrington, 82, Lorenzo, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Mr. D. L. Lowrie, Pastor, officiating.
Assisting was Mr. Calvin Partain, O´Donnell. Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Herrington, a retired farmer, died Monday at his home in Lorenzo. A native of Falls County, he moved to Lorenzo in 1919 from Eastland.
Survivors are his wife, eight sons, two daughters, five brothers, five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

LORENZO (Special) — Services for Mrs. Irene Herrington, 93, of Lorenzo will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Lorenzo with Rev. John Jenkins, pastor of First Baptist Church in Lockney officiating, and L.V. Ellison, minister of the Church of Christ in Petersburg assisting.
Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Carter Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mrs. Herrington died Wednesday morning in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Desdemona, she moved to the South Plains area in 1919.
Survivors include five sons, Grice and J.T. of Lorenzo. Woodrow of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Allen of Caliente, Calif., and Doyle Glenn of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Eva White of Seminole and Ethel Cady of Caliente, Calif.; one sister, Ida Mae Smith of Big Spring; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
