Rosary for Lupe Hernandez, 78, of Slaton was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2001 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo.Services were at 1 p.m. Friday at San Lorenzo Catholic Church with the Msgr. Roland Buxkemper officiating.
Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels of Lubbock.
She died Tuesday, March 13, 2001.
She was born April 15, 1922, in Floresville and married Jose G. Hernandez in 1937. He died Sept. 21, 1991. She had been a resident of Lorenzo since 1970.
She attended San Lorenzo Catholic Church and was a member of the Guadalupanas Society.
Survivors include five sons, Amadeo of Floresville, Marcelino of Colorado City, Jesse of Lorenzo, Louis of Slaton and Rey of Lubbock; five daughters, Teresa Trevino of Lorenzo, Helen Espinoza of Colorado City, Rosa Pena of Woodrow, Anita Alonzo of New Deal and Aurora Garcia of Sweetwater; 42 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren.
