J.D. moved with his parents from New Mexico to Dickens County in 1912, family moved to Port Arthur and then back to Dickens County in 1916 where they lived in the Duncan Flat community and J.D. attended Duncan Flat School. He remained a farmer. He married Lena Clements in 1927. They were married by the Rev. Bennett of Spur, Texas. Lena´s parents W.F. and Lena Clements moved to Dickens County in 1917 from Fisher County in a covered wagon. They bought the Jim Robertson farm. Lena also went to school in Duncan Flat.After JD married they lived on his father´s farm until 1934. They moved to Crosby County south of Ralls. In 1937 they moved to the Farmer Community and lived there until 1942. They eventually bought a farm near Lorenzo, Texas, where they still live. They have two sons, Roy and Weldon. One daughter born/died in 1930 is buried beside J.D.´s parents in Afton Cemetery, Dickens Co., TX.
LORENZO (Special) - Services for J.D. Henry, 87, of Lorenzo will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating.Burial in Lorenzo Cemetery will be directed by Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Henry died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday in Lubbock´s Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Bandera County and married Lena Clements on Aug. 3, 1927, in Dickens County. He moved to Lorenzo from Farmer Community in 1942. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of the Lorenzo School Board, Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He also had been a Crosby County commissioner.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Weldon of Dallas and Roy of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Services for Lena Henry, 90, of Lorenzo were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Williams, pastor, officiating.Burial followed in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Mrs. Henry died Saturday, Aug 22, 1998, at Dallas. She was born, Sept. 30, 1907, in Fisher County, TX. She married J.D. Henry Aug. 3, 1927, in Dickens County, TX. He preceded her in death March 28, 1993.
She was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church and a member of the Lorenzo Order of the Eastern Star where she had served as Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Lorenzo Study Club and Lorenzo Bridge club.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Henry, who died Jan. 29, 1996. She moved to Lorenzo in 1942 from the Farmer Community and to the South Plains in 1933.
Survivors include one son, Weldon Henry of Dallas; one brother, Jim Clements of Muleshoe; one sister, Lottie Struvie of Lewisville, TX; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
