Graveside services for Charles W. Guess, 84, of Lubbock, formerly of Lorenzo, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2011 in the Lorenzo Cemetery with Rev. Marcus Murphy officiating. Burial is under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Charles passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Lubbock. He was born December 17, 1926 in Boerne to Charles Pinkney and Mae Ella (Deddker) Guess. He married Virginia Crump in June 17, 1955 in Clovis, NM. She preceded him in death April 5, 1981. He married Betty Jo Baggett Poulson April 24, 1982 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death may 18, 1994. He then married Peggy Rogers February 14, 1996 in Lubbock. Charles served his country in the US Army during WWII. A farmer, he owned Guess Irrigation Systems in Lorenzo and worked for Sentry Properties for the last 20 years. Charles was a member of the Oakwood Baptist Church in Lubbock.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kelly Jill Guess in September 15, 1962.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Guess of Lubbock.
