Funeral Services were held for William "Bill" Gibbs of Lorenzo
Services for William Monroe "Bill" Gibbs, Jr., 65, of Lorenzo were held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Williams, Rev. Wes Collins and Rev. Ken Bevel officiating. Burial followed in the Lorenzo Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.
Bill passed away Saturday, October 13, 2007 in Lubbock. He was born July 29, 1942 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to William Monroe and Elizabeth (Isaac) Gibbs, Sr. October 8, 1966 he married Charlotte Valentine in Crosbyton. He moved to Lorenzo in 1977 from Tyler, Texas. He was a member of the Lorenzo First Baptist Church and the Lorenzo Chamber of Commerce. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 18 years and served in the US Army.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Gibbs of Lorenzo, four sons and their wives; Bruce and Pam Smith of Graham, Kent and Tracy Smith of Crowell, Danny and Cyndi Gibbs of Missouri City and Kevin and Deborah Gibbs of Wills Point, two daughters and their husbands; Tammy and Mike King of Lorenzo and Pamela and Brad Mathis of Pampa, one brother; Leon Gibbs of Lamesa and two sisters; Frances Vinyard of Levelland and Jean Zerbest of Rogers, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be Terry Smith, Bryan Wilkins, Mike Gibbs, Dustin Mathis, Billy Shifflett and B. J. Martinez.
