LORENZO (Special) — Services for Mildred E. Beshirs, 53, of Lorenzo will be at 4 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo with Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor; Rev. Jerry Klaverweiden, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Lorenzo; and Rev. Sid Parsley, pastor of the Crowell First United Methodist Church in Crowell, officiating.

Burial will be in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 9 a.m. Friday at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

Born May 31, 1930 in Mead, Okla., she married O.C. Beshirs Nov. 24, 1949 in Durant, Okla. She moved to Lorenzo in 1953.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Clabourne of Ralls, Gerald and Ray, both of Lorenzo; four daughters, Deborah Norris, Reba Norris and Yvonne Kelso, all of Ralls, and Janet Johnson of Dickens; two brothers, Albert Roberts of Salinas, Calif., and Robert Roberts of Bigsbee, Okla.; six sisters, Maudie Barcheers of Lorenzo, Flossy Waterson of Randolph, Edith Goggans of Durant, Okla., Jessie Grigg of Bonham, Ethelda Lankford, of Apache, Okla., and Ann Miller of Sherman; her mother, Florence Roberts of Sherman; and 15 grandchildren.

OC Beshirs photoOC Beshirs was born on December 8, 1929 in Yuba, Oklahoma to James Alexander and Isdora Gannon Beshirs and passed from this life on May 24, 2016 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 86.

Raised in Bryan County, OC later moved to Lorenzo, Texas where he spent many years working repairing water wells. He later moved back to Bryan County. He married Barbara Duke on April 4, 1987 and they have been blessed with 29 years of marriage. OC was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Durant and he was proud of his Chickasaw Heritage. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

OC was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters and grandson, Willie Kelso.

OC is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Beshirs of the home; sons, Clabourne Beshirs (Judy) of Ralls, TX, Gerald Beshirs of Lorenzo, TX and Ray Beshirs (Linda) of Haskell, TX; daughters, Reba Norris (Walt) of Lubbock, TX, Janet Johnson of Lubbock, TX, Debbie Norris (Scott) of Ralls, TX and Yvonne Miller (Joe) of Spur, TX; brother, Joe Beshirs of Kerrville, TX; 18 grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren and extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Victory Tabernacle Church. Pastor Doyle Pair will officiate. Pallbearers will be Doyle W. Pair, Dewight Sutterfield, Louis Rose, Bobby Brewer, Dale Pair and Joe Beshirs. A second service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 27th at the First Baptist Church in Lorenzo, TX. Interment will follow in Lorenzo Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Brown�s Funeral Service, Durant, Oklahoma.
