Services for L.C. Beaty, Jr. 76, of Lorenzo were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Lorenzo United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Putnam, pastor, and the Rev. Martin Fisher of Lubbock officiating.

Burial was in Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Beaty died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after suffering an apparent heart attack.

A native of Waxahachie, Beaty was a retired farmer and businessman. He was a member of Lorenzo Masonic Lodge No. 1144, a former member of the Estacado School Board and a former Sunday school teacher and superintendent at the Lorenzo United Methodist Church.

He moved to Lorenzo from Clyde in 1925.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Bill of Lubbock, J.L. of Lamesa, Dorval of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Alton of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Lowell of Wolfforth and J.D. of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Golihar of Snyder and Mrs. Ada Stallings of Abernathy; 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
