Services for May Bell Wallace, 78, formerly of Crosbyton, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in an Olney nursing center.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at the Crosbyton Cemetery with Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Lynn Funeral Home of Olney.

Mrs. Wallace was born May 10, 1922 in Loop, TX, to the late Allen Bazil and Aubrey Grace Payne Thomas. She and William Olen Wallace were married on May 22, 1940, in Ralls, TX. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1983. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and seamstress. She was a Baptist. She was a resident of Crosbyton for over 50 years before moving to Olney in November of 1998.

Survivors include two sons Lonnie David and Troy Wallace, both of Crosbyton; two daughters, Mary Phipps, of Portageville, MO, and Wanda Stroud of Olney, TX; two sisters, Betty Cooper of Lockesburg, AR and Irene Marley of Crosbyton; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
