Services for Ernest Wallace, 88, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 1993, in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin officiating.
Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.
Wallace died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1993, in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born Mar. 11, 1904, in Hill County and moved in 1920 to Crosby County at the age of 16. He married Morene Grace Meek on Dec. 16, 1925. She preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 1968. He was a farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Crosbyton.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine June Wallace, who died at the age of 7.
Survivors include a son, Billy Ray Wallace of Paris; a daughter, Melba Spurgin of Hereford; a brother, Darwin Wallace of Meridian; two sisters, Ethna Mae Ellis of Crosbyton and Bertha Appling of Floydada; five grandchildren, Tammy Bove, Ginger Malone, Cindy Wallace, Sherry Ratheal and Kathy Harris; and eight great grandchildren.
