The family and friends of Chris Witt Sides will join together to celebrate her life on Friday, June 3, 2005 at 2:00 PM, at the Monterey Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas. Darrel McMillen, Don Linscott and Ray Bailey will officiate. The graveside memorial will be at the Crosbyton Cemetery, one mile East of Crosbyton, Texas on Highway 82 at 4:00 PM under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Lavanda Christine Witt was born on March 3, 1930 in Spur, Texas to Lois David and Emma Austin Witt. She graduated from Spur High School in 1947. Spur was her home for many years before moving to Lubbock in 1968. She retired from a 15 year career with the IRS to begin her second and much loved career selling real estate. Chris has been a realtor in Lubbock for the past 14 years. In 1984 Chris found a church home at the Monterey Church of Christ.
After a lengthy illness Chris left this life on May 31. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Emma Witt, a grandson, Lance Linscott, a sister, Patsy Kingsbury and a nephew, David Kingsbury.
Those she left include; a daughter; Connie Carlisle Linscott of Peachtree City, Georgia, a son Kenny Carlisle of Lubbock, three grandchildren; Kellie Linscott VanLeuvan of Atlanta, Georgia, Kit Carlisle Womble of Sweetwater, Texas, Kandi Carlisle of Lubbock, a sister Velma Matthews of Artesia, New Mexico, a brother George Witt and his wife Sandra of Lubbock, a special friend; Tom Sides of Lubbock and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be; Drew VanLeuvan, Neil Prather, Brady Wheeler, Doug Kingsbury, Bruce Gillit and Mark Kast.
Family member suggest memorial to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, the American Diabetes Foundation or the building fund of the Monterey Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to service time at the church.
