J.B. Reed, 61, Buried Here On Monday
Following funeral services at Rix Funeral home chapel in Lubbock Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., the body of James B. Ree, 61, was brought overland to Crosbyton where he was laid to rest in Crosbyton cemetery. Rev. Ben D. Johnson of the Tabernacle Baptist church officiated.
Mr. Reed, who moved to Lubbock several years ago from Crosbyton, died early Sunday morning in West Texas hospital, after being admitted Friday night. He had been a building contractor in Lubbock since 1939.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Fay Jones of Tipton, Okla., Mrs. O.W. Young of Spur, Mrs. Warren Walters of Irwing, Mrs. C.W. Haynie of Lubbock and Mrs. Leona Moore of Crosbyton; a son, James of Clovis, N.Mex.; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Cunningham of Fort Worth and Mrs. Jade Martin of Louisburg; two nieces, Mrs. Levy Croswell and Mrs. Kelly Hinkle, both of Lubbock; four brothers, Silas of Frederick, Okla., Lon of Odessa, W.Y. of Carbon adn J.S. of Nimrod, and ten grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Tom Carber, Jr., W.A. Roberts, M.K. Dean, Claude Adams, Jimmie Taylor and Truman Barnett.
