Obituary

CROSBYTON (Special) - Graveside services for Ora Johnston Raymond, 95, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crosbyton Cemetery with his brother, Frank Burk Johnston, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. Raymond died at noon Wednesday in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Hollis, Okla. She married William McKinley Raymond in 1926. He died in 1931. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Canyon State College and a master of arts degree from Texas Tech University. She was a pioneer in the field of special education, and she was an elementary school teacher and special education teacher. She taught in Snyder, Amarillo and Crosbyton. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher´s Society.

Survivors include three daughters, Claudia Shreve of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Ruth Lewis of Hobbs, NM, and Joanna Campbell of Lubbock; four brothers, Tom Johnston of Arlington, Louis Johnston of Seminole and Frank Burk Johnston of San Antonio; a sister, Dorothy Genovese of Leeds, Md.; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
