Obituary

Services for Alvie Ratheal, 73, of Crosbyton were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 1990, in First Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Rine, pastor of Woodrow Baptist Church, and Les Griffin, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Ratheal died at 11:30 p.m. Friday, August 3, 1990, in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Crosby County, where he was a farmer. He also had owned the Ratheal Texaco service station for 22 years. He married Charlsie Joplin on March 1, 1936, in Spur. He was a former Crosby County sheriff, a Crosbyton city councilman for 11 years and a former member of the McAdoo School Board. He was a Baptist and a member of the Downtown Bible Class. He was a member and past master of Crosbyton Masonic Lodge No. 1020 and a member and past patron of Order of the Eastern Star No. 891.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Max of Weatherford and Larry of Lubbock; a daughter, Jerri Proctor of Lubbock; a sister, Jeannie Moore of Crosbyton; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
