Funeral services for W.C. "Bill" Odom, 66, of Brownwood and formerly of Crosbyton were conducted at 11 a.m. April 10 in Crosbyton´s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.Mr. Odom died about 5 a.m. Sunday at his lakeside home in Brownwood following a sudden illness.
Odom moved to Crosby County on Jan. 8, 1926. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crosbyton Masonic Lodge #1020, the Crosbyton Lions Club. He was an ordained Baptist Minister. He served as Crosby County Commissioner, Pct. #2 for 16 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1979. He and his wife moved to Brownwood on Jan. 13, 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; one son, Bill Odom of Crosbyton; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Ann) Beaty of Anton; two brothers, Francis Odom, Big Lake; Griffin Odom, Lubbock; four sisters, Kate Richardson, Lamesa; Fay Ainsworth, Bledsoe; Bernice Moses, Ralls; Emma Ruth Mize, Crosbyton; and three grandchildren.
He was born on Jan. 8, 1913 in Sterling City, Texas. He and the former Lois Mitchell were married on Oct. 7, 1934 in Vernon. He was a veteran of WWII, a farmer, bookkeeper, cotton buyer and insurance agent.

CROSBYTON Services for Lois Odom, 89, of Crosbyton will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester B. Griffin officiating.Burial will be in Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
She died on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Crosbyton Hospital.
She was born on April 4, 1911, in Childress County. She married William Cooper Odom on Oct. 11, 1934, in Childress. He died on April 6, 1979.
She was a 1928 graduate of Childress High School. She moved to Crosbyton in 1947 from Alpena Pass, Ark. She was a member of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church, where she was in the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Garden Club, Big 4 Club, Crosbyton Hospital Auxiliary and the Crosbyton Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son, Bill of Crosbyton; a daughter, Ann Beaty of Santa Anna; a sister, Brownie Kimbrough of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Crosbyton Cemetery and the Crosbyton Senior Citizens.
