CROSBYTON (Special) — Services for Fred McDougle, 71, of Crosbyton were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 1998, in the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Les Griffin, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

Mr. McDougle died at 4:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at his Crosbyton home following a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 22, 1926, in Winona, TX and married Dorthy Brewer on June 10, 1946, in Mineola, TX. He moved to Crosbyton in 1950 from Tyler,TX. He worked for Crosby County Fuel for 14 years. He was a member of Crosbyton First Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorthy McDougle of Crosbyton; a son, Charles of Glendale; and a daughter, Sharon McDougle of Crosbyton.

Pall Bearers: Monte Bevel, Jimmie Wheeless, Thomas Davis, Lance Morris, Bob Wideman and Bill Odom. Honorary Pallbearers: Crosby County Fuel Employees.

Dorthy McDougleDorthy McDougle, 87, of Crosbyton, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Funeral services will be held at11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 5, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with Rev. Les Reed and Dr. Les Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under the personal care of Adams Funeral Home - Crosbyton.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 - 8 P.M., Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Adams Funeral Home - Crosbyton.

Dorthy was born on March 7, 1925, in Henrietta, Texas, to the late Henry J. and Eunice Forman Brewer. She married the love her life Charles Fred McDougle on June 10, 1946, in Mineola, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1998. Dorthy was a wonderful wife and mother to her family. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. A member of the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton for many years she was a 2nd grade Sunday school teacher who enjoyed working with the children. She also worked in Vacation Bible School for over 25 years serving refreshments to the children, even this year though she wasn't feeling very well that week. Dorthy enjoyed serving others in many capacities in her church. She served as chairman of the Kitchen Committee serving church dinners, sandwich suppers and families who have lost loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, two brothers, Ervin and Darwynne Brewer, two sisters, Glenna Watson and Peggy Ayers.

Survivors include her son, Charles McDougle (Zaidee) of Mt. Sylvan, her daughter, Sharon McDougle of Crosbyton, two brothers, DuWayne Brewer (Pat) of Irving and Henry Brewer (Wanda) of Benbrook, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends to cherish her memory.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Mammaro, Bill Walker, Lance Morris, Ray Hindman, Dusty Cornelius and Joe Cargile.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Kitchen Committee or Building Fund 300 W. Birch Crosbyton, Texas 79322.
