Alvin Kinley Memorial services for Alvin R. Kinley, 60, of Crosbyton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. Dr. Les Griffin, pastor, is to officiate.

Interment will be made in Crosbyton Cemetery, under direction of Adams Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers include Danny Morris, Phillip Morris, Jimmy Deweber, Johnny Deweber, Lynn Clay and David Miller. Employees of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation are to be honorary pallbearers.

The family requests memorials to the Children´s Choir Fund at First Baptist Church.

Following a six-weeks illness, Mr. Kinley was claimed by death at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1923, in Roanoke, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Mr. Kinley moved to Crosybton in 1936, residing here most of his life.

The former Lela Miller and Alvin Kinley were married Nov. 16, 1956, in Clovis, N.M.

He has been employed by the Texas State Department ofHighways and Public Transportation since Jan. 10, 1958. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Crosbyton and the Downtown Bible Class.

Survivors include his wife, Lela; one daughter, Malinda Jo Kinley of the home; and four sisters, Pearl Brown of Fort Worth, Myrtle Fuller of Arlington, Bea Smith of Dodge and Faye Steen of Crosbyton.

Services for Lela Kinley, 76, of Crosbyton will be at 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Crosbyton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton. Lela passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at her home in Crosbyton.

She was born January 18, 1934 in Jack County to Arnold and Lola Mae (Morris) Miller. Lela's mother passed away when she was four years old and her dad passed away in October of 1958.

Lela moved to Crosbyton from Newport in 1954. She accepted Christ as her personal savior in the 50's and was baptized by Rev. Carl Grissom at the Crosbyton First Baptist Church. At that time Vera Jones and Virgil Chron helped her a lot. On November 16, 1956 she married Alvin Roark Kinley at Central Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico. Her Uncle Floyd and Aunt Faye went with them.

Lela and Alvin had the pleasure of adopting a precious girl, Malinda Jo in 1984 before Alvin's death on November 6, 1984. She ran a daycare center for five years. Lela is preceded in death by twin brothers, Elmer Miller on September 24, 1974 and Delmer Miller on July 25, 1984.

She is survived by a daughter, Malinda Jo Avalos and husband Rene and a grandson Ethan Garcia, a nephew David Eugene, a sister-in-law Faye Steen and several cousins and a dog Buffie Jo.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Texas Boys Ranch or the First Baptist Church Children's Ministries.
