An illness spanning several years terminated in death at 6:30 a.m. Saturday for Beatrice (Bea) Karr, known and loved by virtually everyone in this area. Mrs. Karr, 48, succumbed in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.

Mrs. Karr and her husband, Ted, resided at White River Lake.

Memorial services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Crosbyton. The Rev. Bobby Rine, pastor, and the Rev. Johnnie Williams of First United Methodist Church officiated.

Interment was made in Crosbyton Cemetery. King Funeral Home directed arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Al O´Brien, Bill Marley, Harry Jung, Cecil Fox, Arles Graham, and Eldred Mize. Employees of White River Lake were honorary pallbearers.

Born February 14, 1927, in Wichita Falls, the former Beatrice Brixey and Ted Karr were married August 1, 1946, in Crosbyton.

Mrs. Karr was a legal secretary. She was employed for a number of years by Jung and Marley before failing health forced her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Karr; one son, Kelly Karr of Crosbyton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brixey of Crosbyton; a brother, Jack Brixey of Crosbyton; and a sister, Mrs. Tessibel Flournoy of Crosbyton.

The family suggests that memorials be made in the form of contributions to Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Friends are seeking to furnish a new room at the hospital as a memorial to Mrs. Karr. Designated memorials may be made to this fund through City of Crosbyton, First Baptist Church or First United Methodist Church. For further information, persons may contact Bill Marley or Allan Adams.
