Clyde Hodges

Clyde HodgesU.S.Flag   Clyde Weston Hodges, eldest son of J.A. Hodges and wife, Esther, died February 4, 2005 in Snyder, Texas. Clyde donated his body to Texas Tech Medical School and was cremated. He was born December 3, 1917 in Grapeland, Texas. He was a retired farmer living many years in and around Crosby County. Clyde was a member of the Foydada Masonic Lodge and a Baptist.

Clyde enlisted in the U. S. Army Air Corp November 15, 1940 and was discharged September 18, 1945. He flew missions as a crew chief and turret gunner on B-25 bombers out of the Aleutian islands where he earned the air metal in action against Japanese forces. On January 3, 2007 as a tribute to his military service in World War II, his cremains were buried in the Crosbyton Cemetery under a military marker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Adeline Farrar and a brother, Harold Hodges.

Survivors includes two sons, Jerry Hodges and wife, Rosette of Bennington, Kansas and Rick Hodges of Snyder, a brother, Arnold Hodges and wife, Dorothy of Crosbyton, a sister, Dolores Barton and husband, Jack of Houston, 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Les Griffin, pastor of the Crosbyton First Baptist Church officiated the grave side service. Arrangements by Adams Funeral Home.
