S. T. HERROD, 68, DIES AT HOME IN CITY MONDAY

Funeral Services Held at First Baptist Church Tuesday

S.T. Herrod, 68, died at the family residence in Crosbyton on Monday after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with Rev. L.E. Kent, pastor, officiating. He was buried in the Crosbyton cemetery with David Aynes in charge.

Mr. Herrod was born in Mississippi June 19th, 1871. He was married to Mattie Eubanks in that state and moved to Texas 25 years ago. The family lived in Crosby county for about 15 years. Four children were born to this union and all were present at the funeral.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Frances Herrod, Crosbyton; three sons, J.T. of Taft, California; W.L. and S.T. Herrod of Eunice, La.; three brothers, T.J. and Alfred Herrod of McCarley, Miss., and Jimmie Herrod of Forrest City, Ark., and five sisters, Mrs. Alice Conger of Drew, Miss., Mrs. Collie Suddith of McCarley, Mrs. Jim Smith of Isoia, Miss., Mrs. Etta Gozen of Delh;, La., and Mrs. Ad Legron of Monticello, Ark.

Pallbearers were: Hugh Nation, H.H. Perswer, Ben Roy, B.F.Hicks, Calvin Smith, and Ed Wren, of Crosbyton, and L.T. Lott, of Lorenzo.
